Shop Road Widening
District 10
The project consists of widening the existing roadway to five lanes (two lanes in each direction with a 13-foot center median) with 5’ bike lanes, curb and gutter, and sidewalks on both sides of the road from the intersection with George Rogers Blvd. toward Mauney Drive for an approximate distance of 2.2 miles. No improvements will be done to the roadway at the intersection with George Rogers Blvd.
Project Status:
- Received comments on final ROW on 02/17/2026. Phase II ESA has been completed. Utility coordination (60% complete) & utility design (30% complete). Utility relocation plans have been received from the utility providers. All title work for ROW is complete. ROW agents have begun acquisition process. ROW staking is ongoing and approximately 60% complete. Awaiting Norfolk Southern to determine if a new PE agreement is needed. Struggling to get information from them. Traffic control, pavement marking, and signing plans have started.
