The scope of the proposed neighborhood improvement project was determined in Phase 1 (concept phase) of this project. The project scope was selected directly from the approved Richland County Neighborhood Master Plan and refined based on public and stakeholder input and available funding. The Hunt Club Road project begins at O'Neal Court and runs to Chatsworth Road. The project is .5 miles long and consists of a 5 ft. wide sidewalk along the length of the project.
Project Status:
- A pre-construction meeting for the project was held on March 11, 2026. Construction has not yet begun due to a conflict between the proposed drainage improvements and the City's existing 8-inch waterline, affecting approximately 1,100 linear feet. To avoid relocating the waterline, the sidewalk was shifted outward, and the shoulder was widened in select areas while keeping all proposed improvements within the existing right-of-way. The final plans were submitted to SCDOT for review on August 3, 2026.
