The scope of the proposed neighborhood improvement project was determined in Phase 1 (concept phase) of this project. The project scope was selected directly from the approved Richland County Neighborhood Master Plan and refined based on public and stakeholder input and available funding. The Brookfield Road project begins at Decker Blvd and traverses .66 miles along Brookfield Road. The project consists of adding a 5 ft. sidewalk along Brookfield Road.
Project Status:
- The project is currently in the right-of-way acquisition phase. Several parcels have been identified as requiring condemnation to secure the necessary property interests for construction. The project team is actively advancing this process, working to obtain all required right-of-way in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. These efforts are focused on ensuring timely acquisition while maintaining compliance and minimizing potential delays. Upon successful completion of all right-of-way acquisition activities, the project will be fully authorized to proceed into the construction phase. At this time, no significant design or permitting efforts remain outstanding prior to this transition.
