The scope of the proposed neighborhood improvement project was determined in Phase 1 (concept phase) of this Project. The project scope was selected directly from the approved Richland County Neighborhood Master Plan and refined based on public and stakeholder input and available funding. The Decker Signal Project begins at O'Neal Court and includes traffic signal enhancements at Brookfield Road, Faraway Drive, and Percival Road.
Project Status:
- The encroachment permit application for the proposed traffic signal improvements is currently under review by SCDOT. Upon receipt of SCDOT's review comments, our OET will formally respond and revise the submittal as needed to address all technical, operational, and safety-related feedback. As part of this process, several modifications to the signal plans are already anticipated, since SCDOT has completed portions of the work that were originally identified for the County's transportation program to perform. The plans will be updated to reflect existing conditions, eliminate any duplicated efforts, and ensure that the final scope of work aligns with SCDOT's completed improvements and current standards.
