The scope of the proposed neighborhood improvement project(s) will be determined in Phase 1 (concept phase) of this project. Project(s) and scope options will be selected directly from the approved Richland County Neighborhood Master Plan and refined based upon public and stakeholder input and available funding.
Project Status:
- The Concept Report for the Broad River Corridor was completed and received County Council approval in April and May 2019, respectively. Preliminary right-of-way plans were submitted to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) in April 2024, with an Authorization to Proceed (ATP) for right-of-way activities issued in September 2024. The project is currently under SCDOT review, awaiting agency comments and formal approval of the construction plans. Right-of-way acquisition efforts are ongoing. Upon receipt of SCDOT approval and completion of all right-of-way acquisitions, the project will be cleared for construction, with no additional administrative or design milestones anticipated prior to that transition.
