Broad River Road Widening

The proposed scope recommends a 5-lane section (4 travel lanes and a center turn lane) between Royal Tower Drive and Dutch Fork Road. Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations shall include sidewalks from Royal Tower to Woodrow (SR S-40-27).
Project Status:
- Clearing and Grubbing is mostly complete. MCEC to start construction of new
utility poles in August to allow underground utilities to relocate to new overhead lines. Once in place, contractor can start with relocation of water and sewer lines. Moving the utilities to the new poles will be completed by February 2027. However, water and sewer relocations can start is sections as overhead work is completed. Relocation of Salem Church Road is nearing completion. An upcoming utility relocation will allow for the contractor to complete the paving of the new section of road. This improvement will provide safety improvements by removing the poor alignment of Dutch Fork Rd and Old Salem Fork Rd.
