The scope of the proposed neighborhood improvement project was determined in Phase 1 (concept phase) of this Project. The project scope was selected directly from the approved Richland County Neighborhood Master Plan and refined based on public and stakeholder input and available funding. The Decker Signal Project begins at O'Neal Court and includes traffic signal enhancements at Brookfield Road, Faraway Drive, and Percival Road.
Project Status:
- The encroachment permit for the traffic signal installation is currently under review by the SCDOT. Once we receive comments back from SCDOT, our OET will be positioned to address and respond to those comments accordingly. It is important to note that several changes to the plans are necessary, as SCDOT has already completed portions of the work that were originally designated for Richland County Transportation to perform. As a result, the plans are being revised to reflect SDOT's prior completion of those specific tasks and to eliminate any duplication of efforts moving forward. These revisions will ensure alignment between all parties and support a more efficient path toward final approval and project implementation.
