Polo Road Widening

The proposed scope recommends a two‐lane widened roadway from approximately 200’ south of the intersection with Two Notch Road to Mallet Hill Road with bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. The scope provides intersection turn lane improvements at four intersections (Hope Road, Running Fox Road, Miles Road, and south bound portion of Mallet Hill Road), and will include bike lanes and 5’ sidewalks. Traffic signals will be improved either by upgrading or modifications to existing signals.
Project Status:
- Updated ROW plans and submitted to SCDOT on 10/2/2025. Will begin ROW acquisition once approval from SCDOT. Phase II Environmental Site Assessment has been complete. Utility Relocation plans have been received from the utility providers. All ROW title work is complete. Waiting on signed ROW plans before beginning to acquire new ROW and permissions. Sent updated plans to Norfolk Southern in May 2025 and waiting their review to determine if a new Preliminary Engineering agreement is needed.
